Today, your vote will make a difference. Here’s how.

It’s been a long campaign, and it all comes down to today. Your vote will help ensure we have a city councillor who represents every one of Ward 27’s residents and neighbourhoods, and that we have improved public transit, responsibly managed finances and smart sustainable development.

Because the municipal level of government affects our lives more directly than any other, and because it’s more important than ever that we have a strong city council. This is a very tight race—it may come down to as little as 100 votes—your vote will make a difference.

Why Chris Tindal

Chris is endorsed by respected people from across the political spectrum and all over our ward. He has the best set of principles and priorities, and he has the business and governance experience to get results. I have been impressed by his honesty, integrity and genuine interest in what each and every person has had to say throughout this election. I am confident he is the best candidate for city council.

As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch by email or phone.

Best,

Full marks for Chris Tindal from the Toronto Environmental Alliance

The Toronto Environmental Alliance has released their candidate score card, and Ward 27 Council Candidate Chris Tindal has received a full 20/20 A+ grade. The report by TEA, recognized as Toronto Council’s environmental watchdog, evaluates candidates on their commitment to environmental priorities.

TEA is the second organization to release council candidate evaluations following ArtsVote, a group that also gave Tindal their top score for his commitment to arts issues. Out of the field of 15 candidates in Ward 27, only two including Tindal received the highest score possible from both organizations.

“The next council has a huge opportunity to advance environmental action that is good for the economy, reduces waste and creates jobs,” said Tindal. “Taking that kind of smart action will be one of my main priorities.”

Chris Tindal receives top grade from ArtsVote

ArtsVote Toronto 2010 has released their Councillor Report Card and given Ward 27 candidate Chris Tindal a full 4/4 star “champion” rating. The report card seeks to evaluate each candidate’s “awareness of the needs of the arts community, their interest in engaging with artists in their Ward, and their willingness to act as advocates” for arts and culture.

“I am honoured that ArtsVote has given me their highest grade when it comes to recognizing the importance of investing in the arts in Toronto,” said Tindal. “I look forward to being a champion for the arts on the next council so that we can continue to build a beautiful city and support the many jobs in the arts and culture sector.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORONTO– On August 25, Evan Dean stepped down as a candidate for city councillor in Ward 27, and announced his support for Chris Tindal.  Evan has been a great contributor to the community, both as a candidate, and through his work with Trinity Square Café, Our Place Community of Hope, and as volunteer coordinator for Pride Toronto. Chris is honored to have his support.

“I believe that Chris is the best suited for the role and that he has both the political and policy background necessary to serve the residents of this Ward” says Evan on his website. “I believe that Chris understands the role that communities play in creating a great and diverse city.  Chris also understands that improving public transit, and creating more infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists will keep this city green and sustainable in the future.  This is why I will support him for councillor for Ward 27.”

Chris Tindal is endorsed by people throughout Ward 27 and across the political spectrum, including former Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament David MacDonald, retired Senator Lois Wilson and former Ontario NDP Youth Chair Liam McHugh-Russell.

These members of our community are supporting Chris because they know he has the right priorities for our ward. Chris is committed to representing all of Ward 27’s unique communities, and will champion

  • more responsible fiscal management at City Hall;
  • improved transit, so that ‘the better way’ really is better; and
